Car keyless access control system challenges remote access control system

Strategy AnalyTIcs Automotive Electronics Service released the latest research report "Automobile Entry / Start System: Passive Systems will challenge Remote Control Access Control System (RKE)". The report points out that the comparison of RKE with PG (Passive Go) system and PEG system (Passive Entry Go) will be dwarfed. With the PG system, the driver needs to open the door with a key, but the car can be started without the key; with the PEG system, the driver can open the door and start the car without pulling the key from the pocket.

Strategy AnalyTIcs forecast:

-By 2016, the installed capacity of PEG system may not exceed 11 million sets. If the cost can be reduced and consumer awareness can be improved, the installed capacity of the PEG system will likely increase to 19 million units, with a market size of 877 million US dollars.

-By 2016, sales of more cost-effective PG systems can reach 26 million units.

Although passive systems provide convenience to drivers, their development costs are very high. The development of passive systems for each vehicle model needs to be tailored, with more components and complicated installation. Moreover, consumers are basically not familiar with keyless operation.

Strategy AnalyTIcs, an automotive electronics service industry analyst and Kevin Mak, author of this report, believes: "Vendors have been committed to developing more integrated solutions to solve cost issues and enhance system reliability, usability, and functionality to make consumption When purchasing passive systems, they feel that they are worth the money. The PG system greatly improves the convenience of the traditional RKE system, and the cost is not as high as the development of a complete PEG system. If successful, by 2016, the manufacturer may realize PG The system and the RKE system have equal emphasis on the market. "

The future key system will also provide additional information, such as vehicle temperature, the long-distance two-way communication terminal advocated by GM and Volvo is the best evidence.
